We have a Yellow Belt

Our daughter had graduation on Saturday and received her yellow belt. WE are so very proud of her. She has worked hard and is making progress at learning her Karate moves and is getting stronger every day.

Retirment quilt updated

This is the first row of quilting getting ready to be started.

I'm on the last row of quilting the Baptist Fans. The Knitting needle is working for the template, so I was able to complete it.
The quilting is finished. Yea!!!!

A close up of the Baptist Fan design for the quilting

The label has the AF emblem included on it. This took 75 minutes to stitch out.

Next is to finish hand sewing the binding and label on the quilt. It will be done in time!

Backing made

I've made the backing in the same color as the last border. I'm in the process of loading on the long arm.

Need to get the top done ASAP.

retirement quilt top finished

The top is finished, except for the additional writing that needs to be done on it.

I am making the backing the same color as the outer border. I'll be quilting a pattern called the Baptist Fans with a white thread.

First border added

I worked on other things today, so I only got one border added to the quilt This is the small inner light blue border. It does frame the quilt a little.

Hoping to get the larger darker blue border on tomorrow. Than comes the fun of quilting it.

Retirement quilt

Here is the columns going together to get the center of the top done.
Next is to sew the rows together to form the top.
Well, I have the center all done on the retirement quilt. There are lots of signatures that will be enjoyed for years to come.

Randy helped to pick the accent border. The color of blue is what is needed. I'll add a thin light blue border and then the darker blue will be the outside border. I think the back is going to be this darker blue also.
